Our School
WELCOME
Keinton Mandeville Primary School is an inclusive, thriving, rural school; we educate over 150 children in a broad, balanced and creative curriculum.
We pride ourselves on enabling every child to achieve their potential, whatever that potential may be. Our Core Values encourage children to become independent learners, working with determination and energy towards their goals. We encourage a growth-mindset and harness the power of ‘yet’ to help us with this. Don’t think I can’t do that; think I can’t do that, yet!
“Pupils’ behaviour is impeccable. Leaders ensure that pupils are tolerant, kind and caring. They have high regard for promoting equality and acceptance throughout the school. Pupils develop a strong sense of right and wrong.” OFSTED July 2022
Our curriculum is intentionally broad, balanced and creative, giving great value to the arts, sport and humanities. Our curriculum is based on engaging topics, which are varied for each class. We encourage a wide and inspiring range of educational experiences, visits and events, including visits for every class at least every term and residential visits for our older children. These aim to immerse the children in the wider curriculum to further enhance and support their learning.
Our extra-curricular opportunities include a range of sports clubs for all ages; IT opportunities, including entry in to the international First LEGO League annual tournament; music, dance and crafts. We pride ourselves on our playtimes, having completed the OPAL (Outdoor play and Learning) project, meaning that children at Keinton experience challenging, creative and fun playtimes, using loose parts, our enormous mud kitchen and sand pit, in a mix of all age groups and abilities.
At the heart of every Keinton classroom is a teacher that cares deeply for the children in their care, ensuring that the children’s well-being and physical, mental and emotional health are considered and cared for.
Our special community is focused on our children and their families. Parents and families are an integral part of our work as a school and we include families at every opportunity. We have an extremely active Parents, Staff Association and are well supported by our Parent Governors.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and look forward to meeting you.
MISSION STATEMENT
We have worked hard to identify our Core Values and core mission and ethos as a school. These are the eight values that we believe are key to our children becoming positive learners. Our belief is that, if we bring children up being both strong and confident in these values, they will want to learn and achieve their best. These values are:
Enthusiasm, Determination, Independence, Self-belief, Creativity, Respect, Compassion and Energy
“Pupils love to attend this vibrant and happy school. They reflect the school’s values in all that they do.” OFSTED July 2022.
Our core aim is to create good people, who will go out in to the wider world and strive to make it a better place. This is echoed in our Mission Statement and Ethos:
