Curriculum Intent:

A strong understanding and knowledge of geography is essential to children understanding their locality, country and place on our planet.  The study of geography allows them to understand how both our own and contrasting landscapes and places have developed and changed over time and the impact that the human race is having on our planet.  At Keinton Mandeville, our intent is to develop a deeply embedded knowledge and understanding of the children’s own locality, the wider area around them, our country and the world.  It is important that this knowledge and understanding is developed through both first-hand experiences and access to high quality teaching, supported by physical and digital mapping resources.  By developing this deep understanding and knowledge, we intend for our children to become responsible, respectful and thoughtful world citizens.
