Sculpture 7 - Plastic Planet

PLASTIC PLANET

We chose this idea of a globe because we were shocked at what plastic is doing to our oceans. We decided to make a planet with plastic pieces in the sea to represent what it is doing to the ocean. We were inspired by a lake that showed a huge amount of plastic covering the surface.

We reused all of the items to make this sculpture. The items we used were: Plastic bags, plastic packaging for the inside and wire mesh. We shaped the wire mesh into a sphere, and then pushed some plastic packaging inside to keep its shape. Then we put a blue plastic bag over the top and green plastic bags show the countries. We enjoyed making this sculpture and we hope it will inspire other people to recycle more plastic.
